Allows students to see what others are thinking. (provided they're sharing their thoughts)
Allows students more freedom. They can be themselves.
Allows students to create & share. Post links/pictures/examples etc.
Allows process time. Students are not put on the spot.

On-line collaboration with peers.
Communication that does not have to occur within the school day.
Allows for unstructured learning times.
The ability to work at one's own pace.
Responses to questions do not have to be immediate. Students who process slowly are able to take the time they need.
